On 11/5/2011 Tan Cang Logistics and Stevedoring Joint Stock Company (TCL) solemnly held the 5th anniversary of establishment. Attending the event were Vice Admiral Le Minh Thanh, Deputy Commander-in-chief of the Navy; leaders of relevant departments and offices of Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Dong Nai, An Giang, Dong Thap, Can Tho and Board of General Director of Saigon Newport Corporation and representatives from its subsidiaries; and 300 delegates and guests.
TCL, one of the first subsidiaries of Saigon Newport Corporation, was established under the Defense Minister’s Decision No 82/2006/QD - BQP on 11/05/2006. It operates mainly in the field of inland & waterway transportation, handling containers services and empty container depots. After five years of establishment and development under SNP direction, TCL has been promoting its trade mark and internal force. The enterprise has continuously expanded its scale and scope of business, innovated its management and operation procedures to develop the key businesses. New services including warehouse services, Freight Forwarding services, Customs declaration services and stuffing/unstuffing of bulk & bagged cargo have been put into operation, obtaining some remarkable successes.
24/12/2009 marked an important turning-point in the development history of the company in the financial investment sector when Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) allowed Tan Cang Logistic and Stevedoring Joint Stock Company to officially list 17 million shares on the market under the code “TCL” which has been highly regarded by the investors. Together with the integration process of the country, and the general development strategies of the corporation, TCL is moving forward by expanding its scale with the new establishment of 2 subsidiaries being the First Newport JSC, the Second Newport JSC, and other joint venture companies being Tan Cang – Ben Thanh JSC, Cat Lai Terminal JSC, Tan Cang Warehousing JSC, Tan Cang – Cypress JSC, Tan Cang – 128 JSC, etc…With these highly regarded achievements, in 2010, TCL has been proudly standing among the top 100 Vietnamese Golden Star Award companies.
Speaking at the ceremony, Rear Admiral Le Minh Thanh, on behalf of the Vietnam People’s Navy, praised the achievements and the valuable tradition of all the employees of TCL, who are striving in the last 5 years, deserving with 12 awarded golden words from the High Command Navy: “Solidarity, creativity, dynamism, integration, and sustainable development”. The success of TCL affirms the role of a leading logistics service provider in the Southern key economic zone, contributes to the general success of Saigon Newport Corporation – the leading container terminal operator in Vietnam. Facing with the challenges in a new phase of development, SNP in general and TCL in particular, propose specific operation guidelines, which focuses on using internal strengths and existing advantages to develop competitive strengths. In 2011 which is deemed “Customer Year” for SNP, TCL is striving to offer customers the most effective supply chain, contributing to the commitment of the Corporation: “Come to Saigon Newport, come to the best quality services”.
