Throughput at TCCT has increased stably in April in comparison to those in March 2011. Especially, there are more direct services from TCCT to the main ports in Europe.
In April, CSAV and Grand Alliance group (including : NYK, Hapag Lloyd, OOCL) opened the direct routes from Tan Cang - Cai Mep Container Terminal to major European ports such as: Southampton, Leharve, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Genoa, Barcelona, Valencia, La Specia. Importers/exporters using the services in Tan Cang - Cai Mep terminals ( TCCT & TCIT) will enjoy more convenience with five direct services from these terminals to Europe including: the AME by Zim Lines,MNS by CSAV Norasia, NE 5 by CKYH, JEX by the New World Alliance and the servie to Europe-Loop D by the Grand Alliance.
In addition, in order to save time and cut cost, TCCT is deploying barging services for inbound containers from Tan Cang – Cat Lai Terminal to TCCT. This new service has met the needs of consignees in neighboring industrial parks such as: Phu My, My Xuan A who want to receive inbound cargo directly at TCCT regardless of discharge terminal being Tan Cang – Cat Lai Terminal or TCCT.
After more than one year of operations, the output of direct import/export by land at TCCT has increased up to 16% of the total output. It is the result of the best efforts of TCCT in ensuring the delivery/receipt time as commitment with the consignees/shippers. The average truck-turn-around time is within 30 minutes. In 2011, in order to create the most convenience for the customers, TCCT has co-ordinated with shipping lines in applying the discount of lifting on/off; stuffing/unstuffing at the terminal and encouraged the shipping lines to allow consignees/ shippers to return and receive empty containers at TCCT.
Since 30 April 2011, the completion of constructing of the road 965 which connects the National road 51 to Tan Cang - Cai Mep terminals has made it convenient for customers and vehicles to transport their cargo at the terminals.
TCCT has been continuing applying its preferential policies to all the cargo that directly received/delivered at TCCT such as: free or discount of Lifting on/off charge, free storage at TCCT for 21 days and other incentives.
