In April, 2011, throughput of import/export cargo in Tan Cang – Long Binh ICD has increased stably. In comparison to the previous month, the total warehouse output grew up to 53%, in which domestic warehouse was 23% and volume of Bonded warehouse was 30% .

On 11/5/2011 Tan Cang Logistics and Stevedoring Joint Stock Company (TCL) solemnly held the 5th anniversary of establishment. Attending the event were Vice Admiral Le Minh Thanh, Deputy Commander-in-chief of the Navy; leaders of relevant departments and offices of Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Dong Nai, An Giang, Dong Thap, Can Tho and Board of General Director of Saigon Newport Corporation and representatives from its subsidiaries; and 300 delegates and guests.

On 21/03/2011, Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Terminal Co., Ltd (TCIT), the joint venture between Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) with MOL (Japan), Hanjin (Korea) and Wanhai (Taiwan) celebrated the maiden call of M/v Hanjin Germany 001 W/E operating the NES 5 service (Asia North Europe Service 5). This is the biggest vessel with 122,900-DWT tonnage, 349m LOA and 10,000-teu capacity ever calling at Tan Cang – Cai Mep Deepwater Terminals. The vessel shall call at 12 ports including Gwangyan – Busan – Shanghai – Cai Mep – Singapore – Hamburg – Rotterdam – Le Harve – Algeciras and Kaohsiung and will connect major ports in Asia with main ports in Europe, reducing transport time from 23 to 19 days.

On 10 January 2011, the ceremony of awarding Investment Certificate and the Decision No. 139/QD-BQL-KCN-HCM-QLMT approving the assessment report for environment impacts of Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terminal Project of Saigon Newport Corporation at Hiep Phuoc area

With the approval of the Head of the Vietnam People’s Navy and Saigon Newport Corporation, Tan Cang – Song Than ICD Co. Ltd had successfully celebrated the 10th aniversary of establishment (21/12/2000-21/12/2010) and received third class Labour Medal awarded by the National President

After more than one year operational, the direct receipt/ delivery of containers at TCCT goes up continuously with the ratio of 16%. The increase of the direct receipt/delivery thanks to the shortening of the truck turn-around time at TCT- within 30 minutes only

On 27-Dec-2010, Tan Cang - Ben Thanh Corporation, a joint venture between Tan Cang Logistics, Ben Thanh Corporation and Thu Thiem Investment Corporation, officially held the Grounding Breaking Ceremony for its terminal, warehousing and container yard services

On January 15th 2011, TCIT shall welcome the maiden call of MOL. This is also the first vessel of TNWA (the alliance of MOL, APL and Hyundai) which offers “JEX” – a direct service from Vietnam to Europe.
