During week 43 Cat Lai port handled 46 vessels, an increase of 5 vessels in comparison with the previous week. The average berth-stay time was 16.7 h/vessel and departing-waiting time was 1.4 h/vessel (decreased 0.7 h/vessel). Net productivity was 51.8 cont/vessel/h and Port stay Productivity was 43.7 cont/h/vessel. The maximum productivity was 67.0 cont/vessel/h when handle Vessel WAN- HAI 202 / WHL- V: N279. Thus, in the week, the vessel releasing productivity (both Net and Port stay) of Cat Lai Port went in the opposite directions; when Net productivity was slightly decreased (1.6 cont/h) Port stay productivity was slightly increased (0.5 cont/h). These changes were affected by many reasons.
- Although there was an addition of many trailers to the vessel releasing operations which caused the high increase of Net and Port stay productivities of Terminal B but the considerable decrease of which of terminal A. There were 7 vessels called at Terminal B7 instead of at Terminal A resulted the significant decrease of general productivity of Terminal A.
- Several vessels, completing handling in a relatively short time, were compelled to wait for high tide for unberthing, which resulted in a minor drop in Port stay productivity.
- The inbound container occupancy and and yard delivering/receiving volume during the week were large strongly affected yard operating process
- The combination of barging releasing operations were good, especially in the inbound/outbound cotainer transportation between Cai Mep terminal and Cat Lai Port, which fulfilled the given plan.
