Set up in August 2013 from a joint venture between SITC Group of China and Saigon Newport Corporation, SITC Newport Logistics provides empty container supply service, overland freight transportation service, freight transporting agent service, warehousing service, and machine and equipment repairing service. With an initial registered capital of VND6 billion, the company is now operating in a large well-positioned warehousing facility covering 15,000 square metres (first phase), about 500 metres from Gate B of Tan Cang - Cat Lai Port. The company is headquartered at No. 216 Tran Nao Road, Block 2, Binh An Ward, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City.
The company applies advanced warehousing system management software and comprehensively manages entering and exiting container carriers. Forklift display system connected with wireless terminals ensure the accuracy of containers checked in and checked out the facility in a secure, rapid and convenient way, thus helping customers feel assured of service quality. Besides, the warehousing facility and carriers use EDI (electronic data interchange) data interchange programme to have timely and accurate information about container management status.
With empty container service, when containers are lowered to the depot, SITC Newport Logistics will check the status, cleaning and repairing. Then, based on actual situations and conditions, the company sort them into A, B and C-type containers to meet different demand of customers. With this method, the company can satisfy the most demand of customers, improve container quality and shorten the time for handing over containers to customers.
