Attending the opening ceremony of the fair were Major Genenral Tran Trung Tin – Director of Department of Economics, Ministry of Defence; Lieutenant General Tran Don – Commander of Military Zone 7; Mr Ngo Anh Dung – Vietnamese Ambassador in Cambodia; representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the leaders of enterprises of the People's Army of Vietnam. On Cambodia side, Mr. Kem Sithan – State Secretary of Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia and leaders of Cambodian Ministry of Defense – also attended.

With the motto “Friendship, Cooperation, Development”, the Fair has attracted more than 150 Vietnamese military entreprises and prestigious brands, with more than 300 booths. The Fair was held during Cambodian traditional festival, attracting many citizens in the capital Phnompenh as well as neighboring areas.
This is the third time Saigon Newport Corporation participated in this event., and Saigon Newport’s booth had a noticeable position on the right side of the central stage. Mr Bui Van Quy – Marketing Director, leader of Saigon Newport delegation – presented about Saigon Newport Corporation – the top container operator and logistics supplier in Vietnam, with a nation-wide port and logistics network, and expanding worldwide. Throughout the Fair, many customers, both individuals and enterprises, were introduced to Saigon Newport’s services. Having entered the Cambodian market for 3 years, through Tan Cang – Cypress JSC, Saigon Newport Corporation is now operating transportation services between the 2 countries to help connecting Cambodian goods to the world through SNP’s Terminals.

Also, the Saigon Newport delegates attended the “Investment and Business at Cambodian market – Opportunities and Challenges” forum, organized by Vietnam Embassy and Department of Economics – Ministry of Defense. At the forum, Mr Bui Van Quy gave a speech about Saigon Newport success in Cambodia. He also shared experiences and opinions about Cambodian administrative barriers, so that the government of the 2 countries can adjust policies to promote trade.
During the Vietnam – Cambodia Trade Fair, impressed by the success of Saigon Newport, Vietnam Defense Television crew has done a documentation about Tan Cang – Cypress operation office in Phnompenh Port, and had a meeting with the Deputy Director of Phnompenh Port and Cambodian customers.

At the end of the Trade Fair, Saigon Newport was honored by Ministry of Defense for its dedication in consolidating the relationship between the 2 countries. Mr Bui Van Quy also confirmed the determination of Saigon Newport, as well as Tan Cang – Cypress, to keep the top spot in logistics services in Cambodia, and to promote trade between Vietnam and Cambodia in the future.
