Speaking at the party, SNP’s General Director, Mr. Nguyen Dang Nghiem summarized the operation results in 2012. By overcoming many difficulties in 2012, SNP is aiming at reaching the throughput of 3.5 million Teus – a year –on –year increase of 14% in comparing to those of 2011. SNP has maintained the position of the leading container terminal in Vietnam keeping 84.5% market share of the import and export container in Ho Chi Minh City area, 68% in Cai Mep area and nearly 50% of the whole country.
To achieve this result, SNP has constantly improved the service quality such as: putting the new tugboat Azymuth 3500 CV into operation at Cat Lai terminal, upgrading berths in Cat Lai terminal to accommodate the vessel of 40.000 DWT and received Maersk vessel with LOA 222m 35,500 DWT, productivity reached 143 conts/hour, the port-stay has been shortened from 5-20 hours/ vessel), having expansion of the network (from the North to the Mekong Delta, Laos, Cambodia). In 2012, SNP launched SNP Logistics (SNPL) in July, put Tan Cang – 189 terminal into operation in August /2012 and organized the opening ceremony of Tan Cang Waterway Transportation in Nov/2012. Moreover, the most important factor that has made contribution to the success of SNP in 2012 is the efforts of its staff and the good support and cooperation of the carriers, shippers and consignees.
In 2013 and the following years, SNP has specified its business direction based on two polars and three foundations. The two polars include sea- port operation and logistics services; 3 foundations consist of top service for the sake of customers; advanced management & high-quality professional human resources; military discipline in the enterprise & responsibility to the community.
With the network of terminal from the North to the South (TC-189 in Haiphong city; TC Central in Quy Nhon city; TC- Cai Mep in Ba Ria Vung Tau province; TC-Cat Lai, TC-Hiep Phuoc in Ho Chi Minh City, TC Cao Lanh, TC-SaDec in Dong Thap province), as well as network of warehouses throughout the country (The ICDs in Tan Cang, Cat Lai, Song Than, Long Binh, Cai Mep, Dong Thap, Quy Nhon, Hai Phong, Hanoi) and the network of SNP's representative offices domestically and overseas, SNP has committed to providing the best services and creating new services for strengthening sustainable cooperation between SNP and shipping companies and customers for the mutual benefit in 2013 and the following years.
