On December 06, 2006, Saigon Newport Company (SNP) had the honor of being the official member of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) certified by the registration number 2273/PTM-HV. VCCI – a national organization which assembles and represents business community, employers and business associations of all economic sectors in Vietnam – has been operated throughout the country and closely linked to international chambers of commerce. At present VCCI has a total number of more than 9,000 members being entrepreneurs, production entities, business enterprises, employers and business associations. Major functions of VCCI are to promote trade and investment as well as assist and protect business enterprises.
In the recognition that most enterprises – members of VCCI – have trading transactions and commercial co-operations with all operations of SNP, the Board of Directors had decided to join and apply for official membership. By means of available functions of VCCI, SNP endeavors to create preferential conditions for other members with all advantageous policies and high quality services by which will essentially support their business transactions and port-related services.
In the context of SNP recently transformed into ‘holding company’, being a member of VCCI has essentially earned the company so great a political meaning that should significantly enhance co-operations and bonds between SNP and domestic and international enterprises, partaking in the development of these enterprises in particular and of Vietnam in general as the country integrates with regional and global economic growth.
