The import volume through Cat Lai Terminal in the first months of Year 2010 has sharply increased in comparing to those of 2009, and is likely to continue this rise in the following months. Therefore, to better manage the container yards, handling operations and container delivery/receipt, as well as to avoid congestion during the coming holidays, with the acceptance of Ho Chi Minh city customs, SNP has sent the Announcement No 627/TC-KHKT dated April 27th 2010 to advise about the transportation of long staying import containers from Cat Lai to Tan Cang. Accordingly, as of 06th May 2010, import laden containers (except laden reefers, IMDG/OOG containers, and laden containers required to be released at the discharge port) having final destination at Cat Lai Terminal and stored in CY from 20 days onwards will be automatically moved by SNP team to Tan Cang Terminal for release. 07 days before scheduled moving, SNP will make a list of containers to be moved and send to shipping lines so that shipping lines can inform and urge consignees to take receipt of those containers in Cat Lai Terminal (before containers are moved) or complete formalities to receive them in Tan Cang Terminal (after containers are moved). In particular, SNP will start moving import laden boxes as of 21st day of storage since the ship-calling day.For laden containers having over 20 days of storage at Cat Lai Terminal and must be moved to Tan Cang Terminal, SNP will collect the transport cost from consignees upon taking receipt of such containers as follows:
190,000VND/20ft; 380,000VND/40ft; 420,000VND/45ft
