During week 37 Cat Lai port handled 45vessels, an increase of 2 vessels in comparison with the previous week. The average berth-stay time was 17.4 h/vessel and departing-waiting time was 1.8 h/vessel (decreased by 0.4 h/vessel)

During week 36, Cat Lai port handled 43 vessels, a decrease of 02 vessels in comparison with the previous week. The average berth-stay time was 18.1 h/vessel and departing-waiting time was 2.2 h/vessel

Effected by storm, several vessels were off-schedule, this mainly occurred at weekend (9 vessels) and greatly built up a pressure on berth planner

The traffic congestion situation on inter provincial Road 25B was relieved, which facilitated the delivery and receiving cargoes of the clients at Cat lai Port. Several vessels, completing handling in a relatively short time, were compelled to wait for high tide for unberthing, which resulted in a minor drop in Port stay productivity

On Thursday 06/08/2009, the inaugural opening ceremony for Tan cang-Long Binh ICD Customs Clearance Point was held by Saigon Newport Company. Attended at the occasion were leaders from Ministry of Defence, the Vietnam People’s Navy, Ministry of Finance, General Customs Department, Dong Nai Provincial Authority. Guests were also representatives of Shipping Lines, Forwarding companies, and import-export clients.

THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE NEW DIRECT SERVICE OF HANJIN SHIPPING AT TAN CANG- CAI MEP AND THE NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE EXPORTERS OF THE SOUTH.

After the APL (Singapore) and MOL (Japan) of the New World Alliance (including APL, MOL and Hyundai Merchant Marine) has deployed the direct services namely PSX and PS1 to the U.S west coast. Hanjin shipping and the carriers of CHYK alliance (Cosco, Hanjin, Yangming and Kline) also speed up their arrangement to deploy the mother vessel to Tan Cang- Cai Mep deep-sea terminal.

On 01 July 2009, SNP had hosted a meeting presided by Vice General Director Ngo Minh Thuan. With focus on “Comprehensive solutions on the execution of manifest data transmission via electronic network”, the meeting was attended by many representatives from functional departments of SNP, HCMC Customs Department, Region I Customs Office and 50 representatives from shipping lines and shipping agents.
