From 28/6 to 30/06, Vietnam Fisheries International Exhibition 2011 (Vietfish 2011) was held at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) with the participation of more than 130 international and local enterprises displaying their latest products at 300 booths during the 03-day exhibition. In addition to exhibition activities, SNP was organizing a seminar on “Transportation solutions for reefer containers from the Mekong Delta to ports of Ho Chi Minh City and Cai Mep”.

In May, all the services of Tan Cang - Long Binh ICD continues to develop impressively. The warehouse capacity has reached the outstanding figure of 100%. Cargo throughput at warehouses increases remarkably by 48% & 64% in bonded warehouses and general warehouses respectively. During the peak season from March to October, it is estimated that the storage volume will be booming. To meet the high demand from clients, Tan Cang - Long Binh ICD started building up the seventh warehouse here with 18,000 sqm located next to the warehouse No. 4. As such, the total warehouse area in Tan Cang - Long Binh ICD shall be 126,000 sqm.

In May 2011, business operations at Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT) increased stably. The total throughput grew by 23,84%, including 15,25% in export, 43,18% in import, as compared in April. These figures indicate positive performance of TCIT at its early 5-month phase of operations.

In May 2011 the cargo throughput of Tan Cang – Song Than ICD was up by 8.16%, compared to the previous month. Container yard throughput increased by 3.08% while warehouse throughput grew up to 15, 27%. This is a positive sign for the company when the macro market is showing high volatility and uncertainty.

In May, three members from the Grand Alliance carriers being NYK, HapagLloyd and OOCL opened direct service from TCCT to major US West Coast (Los Angeles, Oakland) and some Asian ports (Kaohsiung, Taiwan) with direct time of 16 days only. Sailing every Sunday, this provides more convenience to the import / export customers using the services of TCCT.

This is the annual international conference and exhibition on the supply and logistics solutions organized by Vietnam Supply Chain Insight Magazine (VSCI) with the permission of VISABA and sponsor of the Ministry of Science & Technology and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

On 19/04/2011, Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) solemnly held the meeting between Executive Board of Vietnam Ports Association (VPA) and Port Group No. 5. Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Thu – VPA Vice Chairman, Mr. Ho Kim Lan – VPA General Secretary, 18 representatives from ports in Port Group No. 5, and 05 guests from Da Nang Port, Quy Nhon Port, Hai Phong Port, Quang Ninh Port and Can Tho Port.
