In the morning of May 26th 2011, at Sadec Terminal, Area C in the Sadec industrial Park of Dong Thap province, representatives of Transportation Department of Dong Thap and Newport Transportation JS Company No 2 (a subsidiary of Tan Cang Logistics belonging to SNP) signed the contract to lease Tan Cang – Sa Dec Terminal for the operation.
Attending at the Ceremony were leaders from the Local Party Committee, People’s Committee, representatives of Dong Thap Provincial Authorities, local agencies and enterprises, representatives from the top management of SNP, Tan Cang Logistics, Newport Transportation No 2 as well as related departments and subsidiaries of SNP.

At the ceremony, leaders of SNP and Dong Thap exchanged the souvenirs. SNP had also given the donation of VND 70 million to Dong Thap to build the gratitude house. Tan Cang Logistics and Newport Transportation No 2 had given the Youth Organization of Dong Thap VND 50 million to support the Military Semester Program for students and an LCD to the Transportation Department.
The fact that Sadec becomes one important connection in the logistics network of the barging rotation of SNP shall facilitate the importers and exporters of Dong Thap in terms of transportation and delivery/receipt of cargo from the deep sea terminals in Cai Mep and those from ICDs and terminals in Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Thap and vice versa as well as enhance the trade with Cambodia. SNP shall also diversify the new services at Tan Cang – Sadec Terminal especially those serving the stuffing/unstuffing of the agricultural products as well as handling of the machinery and fertilizers to maximize the convenience and save cost for the consignees and shippers of Dong Thap and neighboring areas in transportation and cargo receipt/delivery.
The ceremony was organized solemnly and fruitfully. Tan Cang – Sadec Terminal officially came into operation, which has made a milestone in the development and expansion of SNP in the Mekong Delta.
