After 4 months of construction, Depot 10 of “Cat Lai empty container yard” has been officially put in operation since 12 Sep 2011 to meet the need of customers in the peak season

Long Binh Depot has an area of 15,6 ha for empty container with capacity 15,000 Teus. Long Binh Depot also has a dedicated area of 1.6 ha for M&R with IICL

Comparing to the previous month, warehouse throughput was up 1.48% while CY throughput increased by 19.58%, which resulted in an 8.75% increase in total throughput.

In order to meet the increasing customers’ needs, Tan Cang Logistics, a member of Saigon Newport, is facilitating stuffing/unstuffing services by launching Tan Cang – Nhon Trach barge terminal just 8 kms away from Tan Cang – Cat Lai Terminal on the other side of Dong Nai River in June 2011.

In the morning of May 26th 2011, at Sadec Terminal, Area C in the Sadec industrial Park of Dong Thap province, representatives of Transportation Department of Dong Thap and Newport Transportation JS Company No 2 (a subsidiary of Tan Cang Logistics belonging to SNP) signed the contract to lease Tan Cang – Sa Dec Terminal for the operation.

On 11/5/2011, Tan Cang Logistics celebrated successfully the 5th anniversary and received the Honor Flag offered by the Vietnam People’s Navy. On the special event, Tan Cang Logistics has the great honor to welcome Mr. Le Minh Thanh, Rear Admiral, Deputy Commander-in-chief of the Vietnam People’s Navy; Ho Chi Minh Authorities and provincial authorities of Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Dong Nai, An Giang, Dong Thap, Can Tho; the Party Chief, Board of Directors and directors of subsidiaries and functional departments of Saigon Newport Corporation and about 300 delegates of shipping lines, partners and shippers.

In April, CSAV and Grand Alliance group (including : NYK, Hapag Lloyd, OOCL) opened the direct routes from Tan Cang - Cai Mep Container Terminal to major European ports such as: Southampton, Leharve, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Genoa, Barcelona, Valencia, La Specia. Importers/exporters using the services in Tan Cang - Cai Mep terminals ( TCCT & TCIT) will enjoy more convenience with five direct services from these terminals to Europe.

Tan Cang – Long Binh Investment & Service Development Enterprise is located in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province which has the key location in the Southern Key Economic area, the most potential strategic development quadrilateral in Vietnam.

On 19 April 2011, Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Terminal Co. Ltd (TCIT) successfully held a ceremony of welcoming the COSCO TIAN SHENG HE - the first Cosco vessel at TCIT.

On 29 April 2011, TCIT had the pleasure to receive another big vessel namely YM MARCH 069A/B of YangMing Shipping Lines.
