On 27-Dec-2010, Tan Cang - Ben Thanh Corporation, a joint venture between Tan Cang Logistics, Ben Thanh Corporation and Thu Thiem Investment Corporation, officially held the Grounding Breaking Ceremony for its terminal, warehousing and container yard services.
With the convenient location nearby Tan Cang - Cat Lai Terminal, this project is considered as the important part on the strategy for development and enlargement of logistics services. In 2010, SNP handled 2.83 million TEUS (2.53 million TEUs of which is from Tan Cang – Cat Lai Terminal), accounted for 75% of HCMC market and grew at 15% annually on average. In this connection, the establishment of Tan Cang – Ben Thanh Corporation is deemed the additional resources to the development of SNP and is expected to bring about more added values and effectiveness.
In the first phase, Tan Cang – Ben Thanh is scheduled to use 60% of the planned area, equivalent of 63,000 m2 for depot operations. For phase 2, the company will invest on cold storage to meet the growing demand on logistics services and supply chain solutions, deemed as a very potential market and in accordance with the orientation and objectives of TCL shareholders as well as of Saigon Newport Corporation.
